Violent crime is slightly up in Richmond compared to last year, while murder is down, data shows

During the Richmond Police Department’s (RPD) quarterly crime briefing on Tuesday, Chief Rick Edwards said total violent crime so far this year is up by 1%. But when it comes to violent crime, like murder, they’re seeing the lowest numbers since 2015.
