Workforce Connections, Southern Nevada’s Local Workforce Development Board, and Credit Union 1 (CU1) have launched a new partnership, backed by a $30,000 donation from CU1 to help expand apprenticeship and on-the-job training opportunities while promoting financial wellness.
CU1 leaders from the credit union’s Las Vegas and Florida operations joined Workforce Connections leadership for a check presentation on October 8, 2026, in Las Vegas. CU1’s investment will provide support to local businesses through Southern Nevada’s Industry Sector Partnerships (ISPs) while providing increased access to financial education.
“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to building stronger financial futures for workers and employers, while increasing awareness of the no-cost resources available through the public workforce development system. These resources can expose community members to new careers while helping businesses grow,” said Mireya Eavey, SVP Community Growth, Strategic Partnership & Financial Wellness at Credit Union 1.
“By connecting local businesses to apprenticeship career pathways and financial wellness resources, we are investing in a more resilient and ready workforce that will help keep Southern Nevada’s economy strong,” said Jaime Cruz, Workforce Connections Executive Director.
